  • The Big Wrap Up 2025 brought the media and entertainment industry together for a thoughtful end-of-year moment focused on real conversation and genuine impact.

Hosted in Bristol, the event explored the challenges shaping the future of video - from the shift from DTT to IP and the changing dynamics of live sports streaming, to the reality of AI in media, platform pressures, and the evolving role of Smart TV and Connected TV.

Alongside the panels, the evening created space to reflect on leadership, growth and sustainability through a candid fireside chat, before closing with The Big Wrap Up Awards, celebrating the individuals and organisations driving meaningful progress across the industry.

The Big Wrap Up was about substance over noise - finishing the year with honest discussion, strong connections and a shared look ahead.

  • 1️⃣ DTT to IP: No Silver Bullets

This panel cut through the optimism and tackled the reality of transitioning from DTT to IP. Rather than pitching quick wins, the conversation focused on complexity, trade-offs, and what broadcasters actually need to consider as infrastructure, audiences, and regulation continue to evolve.

An honest look at why there’s no single solution, and why that’s okay.

    On the panel:

    • Matt Stagg - MTech Sport, Media & Entertainment

    • Xavier Leclercq - Broadpeak

    • Roberto Sánchez-Arévalo Díaz - Nokia

    • Keith Chow - Nokia

2️⃣ Live Sports Streaming: The Power Shift Has Started

Live sports remains the ultimate stress test for streaming technology. This session explored how power is shifting between rights holders, platforms, and technology providers, and what that means for reliability, fan experience, and long-term strategy.

Real-world lessons, not theory - and a clear sense that the balance of control is already changing.

    On the panel:

    • Laurence Boyd - E1 Series

    • Andrew van de Burgt - The Race Media

    • Simon Brydon - Synamedia

3️⃣ AI in Media: Who’s Actually Doing Anything?

With AI dominating headlines, this panel focused on substance over speculation. Panelists shared where AI is genuinely being deployed today, where it’s delivering value, and where the industry is still talking more than acting.

A grounded discussion separating practical application from hype.

    On the panel:

    • Jacob Arends - Bitmovin

    • Maria Ingold - The Media League

    • Josh Lomas - Pixitmedia

    • Phil Cluff - Mux

Fireside Chat: How Not to Break a Company

Crisis Lessons from the Front Line

A raw and honest fireside chat exploring leadership under pressure, the realities of rapid growth, and how easily a company can break if the fundamentals aren’t protected.

    Speaker:

    • Johan Bolin - CEO, Vidhance
Former Chief Research & Innovation Officer, Ateliere Creative Technologies

  • Sponsorship is the lifeblood of The Mixer - and without it, The Big Wrap Up simply wouldn’t exist. We’re hugely grateful to the partners who backed the vision and shared our belief in giving something meaningful back to the media and entertainment community.

Their support helped us create space for honest conversations, celebrate the people driving real progress, and continue opening doors beyond London - making the industry feel a little more connected, accessible, and human.
